For the photo shoot we experimented with different angles and the lighting. We used the tripod to hold the camera in place and so it was easy to create the angle we wanted by moving the tripod up and down of by tilting the camera. The read head lights we used helped us to make creative angles and emphasise the lighting in certain areas. Furthermore we also used filters with the redheads to create different coloured images. I got the people involved in my photo shoot to wear colours such as reds, purples and blacks as these are some of the colours associated with my social group. Additionally I asked them to wear edgy clothing and have extreme makeup and hair as all of these things represent my genre and target audience.
These are the first photos we took in class...
The electrice guitar used in these photos represents the genre of the magazine (rock alternative) as electric guitars are associated with this type of music.
This image of a band shows them pulling moody expressions and wearing quite dark, edgy clothing. This reflects the target audience for my magazine as the social group I am targeting wear simpliar clothing.
I used a pink fliter with this image. The colour and facial expressions contrast. This could represent the idea of the target audience contrasting with the rest of the world as they are different.
The pink filter used in this image reflects the artists happy expression as pink is associated with love and happieness. This could reflect the idea that reading the magazine will make you happy.
These are some photos that were taking of us taking the photos...
Me and my friend rented a camera out of college and took some photos at home...
The colours used in these photos (red, black) are associated with my target audience and genre of my magazine. Therefore these images will allow the audience to know it is a magazine that will interest them as they will be attracted to these images.
The way the artist is looking straight at the camera here addresses the reader directly and invites them to read the magazine/article.
This image has a very rock/edgy feel about it. The guitar and the facial expression of the artist give a fun rock style. This image could almost represent a gig.
This image would be particuarly good to use for my front cover as the bright colours would grab the audiences eye and the audience will beable to see immediatly the genre of the magazine.
This image is rather intimatdating as the artist looks down at the camera. This could be associated with the target audience as many of the older generation find this particular image quite intimadating.
Again these next few images also represent the target audience. The colours used, the guitar and the dark clothing and hair style are all associated with my target audience and the genre of my magazine.
The strange angle this photo has been taken could refer to the strange style and alternative genre of music the target audience listen to.
These images are much more light and happy but the electric guitar and amp lets the audience know that the artist is still associated with rock music.
Although this image is rather feminine the dress contrasts with the black tights and backcombed hair. Therefore making the audience still aware this is a rock/alternative artist.
These images of a band show clearly there are associated with rock music. They are pulling moody expressions. Their clothing is dark and they have the style of my target audienece.
These images of this band would be good to use for my double page article. I could do an interview on the band as the photos look like they were taken for an interview.
These last three images are not as rock as the others but the dark clothing and the moody poses could almost be associated with pop rock therefore they could still be fearured in my magazine.
